Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a [year and programme] student at [institution] and must complete a [length] internship from [date]. Your organisation, known for [specific activity], matches the field I want to train in.

During my studies I [concrete project or skill]. I would like to add field experience in your [department].

Please find my CV attached. I would welcome an interview.

When and how to apply

Two to three months ahead. Hand-delivering still works with many local organisations; ask who will receive it so you can follow up once after two weeks.

Comparison: where to look for jobs

National job boardsFreeGood when the employer is namedAll profiles
WhatsApp and Facebook groupsFreeVariable: check every offerFirst jobs, local offers
LinkedInFreeGoodManagers, NGOs, international firms
Public employment agenciesFreeGoodGraduates, youth employment schemes

Golden rule: an offer that asks you to pay to apply or to "reserve" a job is a scam.

Where to look

University placement offices, national job boards, LinkedIn and speculative applications. NGOs post internships on their own websites and LinkedIn pages.
